Mount Pleasant, Michigan

Metro Detroit native, Dana Whyte is currently a student attending Central Michigan University pursuing her Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Broadcast & Cinematic Arts and Journalism.

 

During her time so far at CMU, she reports and anchors for the university's award winning news station, News Central 34. In addition, she writes daily articles for CMU's newspaper, Central Michigan Life.

 

Dana has held multiple internship positions in news including WJBK FOX 2 in Detroit, Michigan and WJRT ABC12 in Flint, Michigan.

 

Dana is currently the President for CMU's chapter of the National Broadcasting Society and is an active member of the Radio Television Digital News Association and Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.

 

Dana has received multiple awards and scholarships including Second Place in the Current Events Program category for her work at News Central 34 during the 2016 Presidential Election from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and Outstanding Member of the Year Award from the National Broadcasting Society in 2016. 

 

Dana has always had a passion for reporting the news in a compelling and accurate manner.

 

When Dana isn't busy chasing down a story, she enjoys playing volleyball, going to the gym, watching sports, and exploring new places.

Dana's expected graduation date is May 2018. 

Dana is currently an anchor and reporter for News Central 34 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
